Helen Genevia Jackson of Eddyville passed away September 29, 2017 at Serenity House Hospice in Oskaloosa Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 4, at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. A visitation and luncheon at the funeral home will begin at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Helen was born July 8, 1937 to Coy and Jessie Patterson in St. Mary’s, Iowa. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping, reading, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and taking care of family members.
Helen is survived by her husband, Walter Jackson, a daughter Genevia (Jim) Rinehart of Oskaloosa, two sons Richard (Peggy) Lettington of Eddyville and Greg (Michelle) Lettington of West Des Moines. Helen is also survived by Walt’s sons Dossie (Lorreginia) Jackson and Jesse Jackson. She is survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, seven sisters in law, and four brothers in law.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Coy Patterson Jr. and David Glover, and seven sisters; Mae Stoll, Neola Goering, Maxine Gillette, Virnie Goering, Leorine Busick, Ethel Overton, and Mabel Dittmer.
