Jenny Pauline Septer
(July 26, 1925 - October 23, 2017)

Jenny Pauline Septer passed away at the age of 92 on the morning of October 23, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Home in Indianola.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Friday October 27, 2017 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the I.O.O.F Cemetery. Visitation will be at Overton Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday October 26. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Jenny was born on July 26, 1925 to Violet and Victor Covey in St Mary's Iowa. The family moved to Minnesota and Missouri at different times throughout her childhood, but she always returned to her beloved home in Warren County Iowa. She graduated from High School in 1943, in Spring Hill Iowa. In 1947, she married Ray Septer and together they had three boys, Gary, Robert and Steven. She was a homemaker, with her family being foremost in her life. She and Ray enjoyed many years of socializing with close friends and family. Jenny also loved her work. For 30 years, she worked at Beymer’s Jewelry Store in Indianola. She loved the Beymer family and all the people she met while working there.
Jenny was a member of the Indianola Friends Church and loved the Lord. She spent countless hours teaching Sunday School, leading the children's music, and organizing many of the social events of the church. She served on many committees in the church including the women's USFW missionary group. She was also a member of several organizations in the community including PEO and the Welch Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Septer and her two sons Robert and Steven Septer; her parents Victor and Violet Covey Hildreth and Ora Hildreth; her sister Bette Richardson and her brother James Covey.
Her memory will be held forever by her family; son Gary and wife Rebecca, daughters-in-law Janice and her husband Curt Block and Michele Septer. Her nine grandchildren and families; Justin and Melissa Septer and children Sydney and Caleb; Chad and Jenny Septer; Danielle and Lee Gudith and children Jacob and Brooklyn; Tom and Mandy Septer and children Tucker, Valerie, Natalie, Donovan, and Jackson; Melissa and Luke Bishop and daughters Chloe and Esther; Ryan and Melissa Septer and son Jack; Sarah and Mike Fisher and son Joshua; Angie and Mike Grimes and daughters Lexi, Emily and Zoe; and Robert Septer and a great many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan home and HCI Care Services for their compassionate care of Jenny and the many friends who visited her over the past few years.
