Karma Leona Thompson
(February 12, 1938 - June 15, 2017)

Karma Leona Thompson, fomerly of Indianola, died peacefully June 15, 2017 at the age of 79. Karma is survived by children Joyce Bone(Ralph) of Prior Lake, MN; Pam Bartlett (Rex) of Ankeny, IA, and Curtis Thompson (Lori) of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren Collin Bone (Allison) of Medford, OR, Kyle Bone of Davis, CA, Lauren Bartlett of Waterloo, IA, Christian Thompson, and Brennen Thompson both of Nashville, TN; and brother Guy Graham (Joy) Pleasantville, IA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Gene” Thompson; parents,Harry and Hazel Graham, and siblings Helen Schrader, William Graham, John Graham, Donna Eaton, Molly Oakley, Duane Graham, and Harry Graham, Jr.
Karma was born February 12th, 1938, in Des Moines, IA. She was the youngest of nine children born to Harry and Hazel Graham of Milo, IA. Karma was a graduate of Milo High School where she was actively involved in 4-H, Basketball, and her church youth group.
On August 14, 1957, Karma married the love of her life; Gene Thompson. Together they built a family they adored, actively volunteered in their church and community, and neighbors always knew there was warm conversation and a cup of coffee awaiting them whenever they dropped by.
Karma was kind hearted and had a generous & playful spirit with a smile that could light up a room. Her home was always open to all, and was usually filled with family & friends, neighborhood kids, sports teams, and church groups where she generously fed those hungry bellies!
Karma has touched many lives over the years, but especially those of her children and grandchildren. Her same generous heart, zest for life, and gifts of hospitality are reflected in them; those she held most dear!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with visitation held one hour prior to service. A private intermintent will be held at Hartford Cemetary. All are welcome to join us in celebrating this special woman that we call Mother, Grand-Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Sister in Christ.
