Kenneth Louis Mathis
(May 2, 1939 - August 7, 2015)

Kenneth Louis Mathis, formally of Indianola, died on August 7, 2015 at Genesis Senior Living Center. Services will be held at Peterson Funeral Home 602 E. Salem Indianola, IA 50125 on August 13, 2015 at 2 PM.
Kenneth Louis Mathis was born on May 2, 1939 to Alfred and Eunice (Covey) Mathis. He married Janice Funk in 1963 and to this union two daughters were born. He married Deanna Olson on June 24, 2001. Survivors include his wife Deanna Mathis and her family; his sister Eva Green (Robert Green); his children Donna Mathis and Sherri Vogt (Christopher); and his grandchildren.
He graduated from Lincoln High in 1956, Nebraska Wesleyan in 1961 (Music) was also a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He received a Masters in Music from UNL. He taught in various High Schools in Nebraska. In Iowa, he was the state juvenile home recreation director. He later moved to Des Moines working as a manager at various Git-N-Go stores before retiring to Indianola.
