Freda Harriet Hadley
(December 29, 1932 - April 14, 2016)

Freda Harriet Hadley, 83, of Indianola, died April 14, 2016 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Freda was born December 29, 1932 in Harrison County Missouri to James and Lena Grabill. After losing her mother at a young age was raised by her 2nd mother Erma Grabill.
After attending Harrison County Schools Freda moved to central Iowa and married and raised 6 children. In 1974 she married Gary Hadley adding 4 children to the mix. The large family grew together in a caring environment with her stern, but loving way. Along the way many-many surrogate children attached to the list. Her home was truly the gathering point for the village children. If you were to set with anyone that worked or had the opportunity meet her they never forgot her.
Freda is survived by her husband of 42 years Gary Hadley; daughters, Donna Nelson of Mesa, AZ, Carolyn Pollard of Des Moines, Krystelle Cress of Coldwater,KS, Pamela Pollard, Mesa, AZ, Deanna(Scott) Carlson Haywood, WI, Julie(Dan) Moses Coffeyville, KS; Sons, William(Diane) Pollard Altoona,IA, Eldon Pollard Indianola, IA, Michael(Cindy)Pollard Melrose, IA, Patrick (Brenda)Pollard Ankeny, IA, Ira Joe(Cheryl) Hadley Des Moines,IA. Also left as her legacy 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and hundreds of the village children she loved as her own. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral services for Freda will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Peterson Funeral Home.
