(November 13, 1953 - May 24, 2016)

Alberta Jean (Havens) Kibbie, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Burial of ashes will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa. Alberta was born in Des Moines, Iowa of Friday, November 13, 1953 to Theodore and Louisa (Hansen)Havens. Alberta was the youngest child of the “Havens Gang”. Alberta attended Carlisle High School then Estherville Community College for 2 years where she met her husband David Kibbie. David and Alberta were married in Estherville in 1973. They had 2 children together; Marietta Louise in 1975 and Phillip Theodore in 1979. Alberta is survived by her 2 children; Marietta(Chris)Mansker and their dog Lance of Johnston and Phillip Kibbie and his dog Paco of Des Moines; siblings, John(Shirley)Havens of Des Moines, Otto(Mary Ann)Havens of Florrisant, MO, Alan(Diane)Havens of Tiffin, Mary Chidester of Sheridan, WY., Emma Black of Seattle WA., Dorothy(John)Rullman of Altoona and Carol Beveridge of Des Moines; inlaws, Rose(Tom)Kramer, Alice Applegate, Leonard Kibbie, Loren Burkhart, Lavonne(Bob)Kilgen, Larry(Clara)Kibbie and several nieces and nephews.
