Charles R. "Brownie" Harris
(October 1, 1928 - August 30, 2016)

Charles R. (Brownie) Harris, 87 of Carlisle, Iowa, passed away on August 30th 2016. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. with visitation with family at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 6, 2016 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa. Burial of cremains with Military Honors by Carlisle V.F.W. post #2099 and the U.S. Navy will follow services at Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola, Iowa. Charles is survived by his son Jonathon Perry Harris of Carlisle, daughters Robyn (David) Racelle Harris and Lori Jayne (Truman) Harris of Des Moines; Sisters; Carolyn Goodrich of Osceola, Elaine Bullard of Panora and Vicki Asmus of Osceola; Sisters-in-law, Margaret Harris of Iowa City and Darlene Harris of Midland, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Beth Khoundara (Sack), Phoenix, AZ.,Amanda Cunningham (Randle), Carlisle, IA., Jonathan Harris (Jenni) Des Moines, Iowa., Haylee Fisher (Rudy) Carlisle, Iowa., 7 great grandchildren; Nathan Goldsberry, Xavier Khoundara, Lucy Cunningham, Avery Charles Khoundara, Ellis Khoundara, Zander Cunningham, Linken Harris and 26 nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis (Shoup) Harris, brother H.E. Harris (Gene), brother James Doyle Harris, brother Gordon Keith Harris, sister Virginia Shaver.
