Norma Alice Norris
(November 12, 1922 - November 21, 2016)

Norma Alice Norris was born November 12th, 1922 to Bruce and Ada Nunamaker, Norma was a lifelong resident of Indianola, IA. Norma attended Indianola schools where she met Earl Norris in 6th grade. In Jr. High School Norma and Earl went out with a group of friends, the two of them ended up talking all night long which did not please Norma’s father, Bruce. Earl was told never to see Norma again, and for a while, he didn’t, but on New Year’s Eve, Earl received permission from Bruce to date Norma and they were together for the next 70 years. Norma graduated from Indianola High School in 1940. Norma and Earl married October 12th, 1941. They had two children, Gary and Janet. Norma worked at Beymer Jewelry and the Indianola Veterinary Clinic. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, the Ruth Circle, the P.E.O. organization, and the VFW Auxiliary in Indianola.
Norma was the proud Grandma to four grandchildren; Ryan Woodruff, Samantha Kinslow, Kendra Corbin, and Alexia Norris. She also had ten great-grandchildren; Cody Woodruff, Kelsey Woodruff, Justin Woodruff, Charlie Kinslow, Alex Kinslow, Cale Corbin, Kade Corbin, Ty Corbin, Elias Corbin, and Josephine Dulle.
Norma is survived by her son Gary Norris of Smithville, MO; daughter Janet Woodruff of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Norma is preceded in death by her parents Bruce and Ada Nunamaker and husband Earl.
