(January 17, 1957 - February 19, 2017)

Lawrence E. “Larry” Dennis, 60, of Carlisle, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Peterson Funeral Home, 415 School St., Carlisle, Iowa. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service.
Larry was born January 17, 1957, in Long Beach, California. He worked for R.R. Donnelly & Sons (formerly Meredith/Burda Corporation) for 24 years before leaving to work in a field of his passion as a Paramedic Specialist at Mercy Ambulance Service where he retired in 2007. He also served on the Carlisle Fire Department for 17 years, and held several officer positions including Fire Chief. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Larry is survived by his wife Lynda and their three daughters, Nicolle (Brian) Morris, Andrea (Isaac) Wyant, and Sarah (Tony) Middleswart. He was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Shania, Eli, Jewel, Lincoln, Raylan, and Jameson. He is also survived by his four sisters, Lori and Lisa Dennis, Linda Shriver, and Kim Alanis, and one brother, Lance (Ginny) Phipps. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Helen and William Phipps, and his father, Larry Dennis.
