Delores McClintic, 77, of Carlisle, was welcomed home by her Savior and Friend, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born June 12, 1933 in Des Moines to Gerald and Margaret Preston. Delores worked in advertising at Pioneer for 17 years until her retirement in 1985. Delores enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was well-liked and was the type of person who never met a stranger. She greatly enjoyed crocheting and other crafts and her cooking and fudge were legendary. But above all, her family truly was the beat of her heart.
Delores is survived by her children, Denise (Carlos); Mark; and Ronda (Kent); four grandchildren, Melissa, Kaylena, C.J., and Xander; and one great-grandson, Jose. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, and her grandparents. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Funeral will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Des Moines First Assembly of God Church, 2725 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
