Edward Baker, 86, passed away November 22, 2009 at the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle, Iowa. Funeral Services for Ed will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlisle Christian Church with visitation on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday in Cummings, Kansas. Everyone is encouraged to meet at 1 p.m. at the Cummings Christian Church. Ed was a production manager and served in WWII in the Navy. Ed was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W. and 40 & 8. He was very active in Carlisle Little League and the community throughout the years. Ed is survived by his son, James C. Baker, daughter- in-law, Sonya A. Baker; sister, Mary Catherine Dreiling and her husband Gene, Grinell, KS; three grandchildren, James E. Baker, Joshua A. Baker, Shelby A. Baker; one great-grandchild, Logan D. Baker. Sarah Van Wyk who Ed fondly referred to as his niece. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Baker; two brothers, George and Patrick Baker; sister, Dorthy Valenta.
