Pete Deaton passed away Thursday June 16, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa. Pete has been cremated as to his wishes and a family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m. that evening. Pete was born May 7, 1929 in Levy, Iowa to Floyd and Sarah Deaton. Pete married Louise Reed and raised four children. He worked as a maintenance foreman for the railroad for most of his working life. Survivors include Pete's four children; sons, Archie (Heather) Deaton of Carlisle and Pete Deaton Jr. also of Carlisle; daughters, Edna (Mike) Hansen of Des Moines and Nancy Oehler of Carlisle; sisters, Barb (Bill) Reed of Des Moines and Irene Ritter also of Des Moines, eleven grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
