Obituary
Joseph B. Halderman died at his [home] near Hartford, Iowa, Dec 14, 1902, aged 60 years, 11 months and 9 days. His birth place was Tippecanoe County, Ind. While yet a boy he removed with his parents to Warren County, and almost his whole life was spent in the neighborhood where he died. He was a member of Co. B., 34th Iowa Infantry. He served until the close of the war and received an honorable discharge at Houston, Tex.
July 25, 1870, he was married to Eliza Dotson. Of this union one child, Isaac, was born who with his mother mourns the loss of an affectionate father. Mr. Halderman was of a happy and genial disposition, an honorable citizen and his worthy life had drawn to him a great many friends. He was a member of the Christian Church. The funeral service was conducted by Elder W. H. Coleman of Indianola and his body was interred in the Hartford Cemetery.
