OBITUARY
NEAL – Mrs. Mary Neal, widow of Benj. Neal, died April 2, 1891, at her residence near St. Marys, Warren county, Iowa, of cancer of the breast. She was over 57 years of age. Her maiden name was Chull. Ten years ago she moved from Wayne county, Indiana, to her recent home. Mr. Neal dying within a year. She leaves seven children, all of whom were prresent at the funeral. Their names in order are, Mrs. Nancy ---, of Wapello county, Jas., Mrs. Laura Young, Douglas, Emma, Clarence and Jessie. Mrs. Neal united with the Baptist church over twenty years ago. The funeral services were held at the house and the burial was at the St. Charles cemetery [Madison County, IA, South Township].
Note: According to the 1885 Iowa census, Jackson Twp, Mary Neal was age 50, therefore, she was born about 1835.
