Obituary—John Wickett
John Wickett, son of Humphary and and Ann Wickett, was born in Devonshire, England November 14, 1843, and died at his late home in Milo, Iowa, October 9, 1909, at the age of 65 years, 10 month and 25 days. He was united in marriage with Isabell Williams at Steiner, Canada, August 18, 1883. To this union two children were born; Richard William and Amelia Ann. His wife passed to the spirit life July 53, 1887. He was married to Martha Monroe at Indianola, August 23, 1893. They lived on a farm near New Virginia; a few months ago, when they moved to Milo.
Mr. Wickert had been sorely afflicted for several months. He fully realized his time was short and spoke calmly of his coming demise. He was a loving husband, a kind and indulgent father, an honest upright hard working man, one in whose life there was a great deal of the mile a of human kindness, a man that was loved most by those who knew him best. He leaves a wife, one son, one daughter and one brother whose hearts are torn by sorrow at the parting of the ways. Our friend is with us no more, but who can forget his life, his patience through suffering, his cheerfulness and love. Soon the grass will be growing over his tomb, but his body no longer racked with pain will calmly rest beneath the sod.
Funeral services were conducted by C. S. Fair at the Plainview church ,October 11th where the burial took place
