Obituary—Erlan E. B. Pritchett
A bud the gardner gave us, a pure and lovely child, he gave it to our keeping to cherish undefiled. But just as it was opening, to the glory of the day, down came the Heavenly gardner and took our bud away. Erlan E. B. Pritchett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bird and Emma Pritchett, was born near Hawley, Clay county, Minnesota, November 14, 1907, and died at their home in Milo, Iowa, March 24, 1909, aged one year, four months and ten days. Erlan was a sweet, winsom child, foundly loved by his parents and sister and will be greatly missed in the home, but it is well with him, he exchanged the sorrow and sufferings of this world for the glories of Heaven, and we leave him with the angels who will stand by his tomb and keep watch o'er his slumbers. To the sorrowing relatives and especially the heart broken parents, the tenderest sympathies of the community are extended to them. May they in their hour of loneleness and grief put their trust in Him who said:. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for such is the Kingdom of Heaven." Funeral services were conducted by the writer assisted by Rev. Tennant at the M. B. church, March 25th, after which the little body was taken to the Plainville cemetery and interred among the monuments in the' city of the dead. C. S. Fair.
