Jerald Edward Roe
(1911 - 1911)

In Memory of Jerald Roe
Jerald Edward Roe, infant son of Edd and Lola Roe, after three short weeks stay with these loving parents, the tiny dimpled hands were folded in their marble beauty and the spirit of this stainless child returned to God, who gave and is with the angel band in that beautiful city where angels do always behold the face of our heavenly father.
These broken hearted parents and three little sisters have the sympathy of their many friends in this hour of parting. Short services were held at the home on Saturday. C. S. Fair very feelingly spoke of the possibility of the life of a child, the hopes and expectations of the parents and the assurance in God’s word of his destiny. Three beautiful songs were sung by Mrs. C. R. Motherhead, Mrs. J. N. Goode, L. Westerfield, and J. M. Kimzey, after which the form of this angel child was taken to the Plainville cemetery for interment.
Precious darling, he left us, left us for forever more, but we hope to meet our loved one on that bright and happy shore. Lonely the house and sad the hours since our little one has gone, but oh, a brighter home than ours in heaven is now his own. The little crib is empty now, the little clothes layed by. A mother’s hope, a father’s joy, in death’s cold arm doth lie. Go little pilgrim to thy home, on yonder blissful shore. We miss thee, but soon will come, where thou hast gone before. The days our darling won were few, as angels visit lent, that came and banished with the dew; a joy of earth soon spent. Yet, tis sweetest balm to our dispair, heaven is God; and thou art there, our darling baby dear.
