Martha A. Lucas
(Apr 24, 1832 - May 22, 1906)

Martha A. Lucas was born in Green county, Tennessee, April 24, 1832, and died May 22, 1906, age 74 years and 28 days. She came with her mother to Boone County, Indiana, when quite young, her maiden name being Martha Etter.
She was married to A. J. Lucas Nov. 26, 1856; to this union was born 4 children: Sarah E., Wilson, Susie Decher, Philip M. and Nettie Bryant. She moved with her husband to Warren county, Iowa, September 1873, and in March 1901 moved to Dewey county, Oklahoma.
She was converted in her teens and joined the Evangelical Lutheran church. About twelve years ago she united with the Christian Union chruch at Plainville to which she remiained faithful until death.
She leaves to mourn her death, a husband, one son and two daughters, beside a host of fiends. A daughter, having prceeded her to the other shore.
She was laid to rest in the beautifil cemetery one mile south of Tologa. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. R. Whittenburg, the M.E. minister of that place.
