Charles Frank Trotter was born Oct. 4, 1904 near Milo and died Sunday, July 1 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He had been ill for some time with a heart condition, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
He was the son of Jenny Snell and Eddie Trotter and attended Milo High School and Simpson College. Frank was united in marriage to Mary J. Moorehouse on June 12, 1929 in Milo. They had three children, Charles Edward, who died in infancy; Janice Ann Mull and Frances Mae Trotter.
Mr. Trotter farmed near Milo until Jan. 1982 when he and his wife moved to Indianola.
For 27 years Mr. Trotter and his wife spent several months each fall at their home in Red Feather Lakes, Colo. While in Colorado he was active in civic and community affairs and was a member of the nondenominational Community Church.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milo and served in many capacities in the church including lay representation to the annual state Methodist Conference.
Mr. Trotter was active in community affairs in Warren County. He was a charter member of the Southeast Beneficial Fire Department and sered as a board member from its inception until he moved to Indianola. He was also a charter member and president of the Milo Lions Club and was very active in the Warren County Farm Bureau and the Republican Party, as well as serving other civic organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill Mull of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter Frances Trotter of Des Moines; a sister, Bessie Rees of Churdan; an Aunt, Eden Trotter of Indianola; and two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lester Trotter, and an infant son.
Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Howard Lord, Dr. Everett Laning, the Reverend Matt Leach and the Reverend Jerry Oliver at the United Methodist Church in Milo on Thursday, July 5. Interment was at the IOOF Cemetery at Milo. Funeral arrangements were made by Mosher Funeral Home.

C. Frank Trotter, 79, a longtime resident of Milo and recently of Indianola, died Sunday of heart failure resulting from an extended illness of Alzheimer and Parkinson's disease.
Mr. Trotter died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Indianola; and two daughters, Janice Mull of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Frances Trotter of Des Moines.
Mr. Trotter was born in Milo Oct. 4, 1904. He was a charter member of Milo Lions Club, a member of the Southeast Warren Beneficial Fire Department, the Warren County Assessors Board, the county board of the farm bureau and the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service.
He also served as a lay-delegate to the annual conference for the Milo United Methodist Church of which he was a member. In addition, he was a committeeman for the Republican party.
Services will be held at the Milo United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5. Friends may call at the Mosher Funeral Home in Milo until the time of the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Milo United Methodist Church.
