DEATH OF MISS HATTIE E. WALKER.--The many friends of Miss Walker, who listened to her excellent address last winter, through the northern portion of the State, will be pained to learn of her death, which took place at her father's residence, in Indianola, last week. Her record was short but brilliant and she made her life one worthy of imitation.-- Cedar Rapids Republican.

Mitchelville Lecture Course – The Mitchellville folks are to be treated to a course of lectures, under the auspices of the Union Sabbath School of that place. Miss Hattie Walker, of Indianola, will open the course on the 14th inst., and Gov. Carpenter will deliver the second lecture on the 20th. For the other lectures of the course, Rev. W. J. Gill, Elder J. C. Hay, Rev. J. R. Murphy, D. D., and Rev. A. Irvine Crigler, of this city, have been engaged. Miss Hattie Walker, of this place, is lying dangerously ill at Leon, Decatur County. Her father went on Friday last and on Saturday a dispatch was sent to her mother to come to her side, and she started on Saturday night. We hope to hear of her recovery.
