Velma I. Strovers, age 94, passed away Saturday October 31, 2009 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center.
Born in Mitchellville, Iowa she has lived in Indianola for most of her life. Velma served during WWII in the Army Air Corps. She worked for Northwestern Bell as an operator all of her working life. Velma was a long time member of the First Baptist Church and had served as church treasurer and clerk for many years. Velma also was in the Rebekah Lodge in Indianola.
Preceding her in passing were her parents Harry and Jeanette Strovers; sister Hattie Putz and one niece.
Surviving are her brother and his wife Mack and Helen Strovers of Indianola; five nephews and three nieces along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Indianola. She will like in state from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens. Any memorials will go to her church.
