Nellie Mae Buttrey, 96, of Indianola died of complications of a stroke Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Services were held July 8 at Peterson Funeral Home, with burial at Hartford Cemetery in Hartford.

Mrs. Buttrey was born in Kellogg and had lived in Indianola since 1957. She was a homemaker and a retired nurse's aide. She was a member of Regular Baptist Church in Indianola.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry.

Survivors include three sons, Lyle of Marshalltown, Larry of Indianola and Floyd of Osceola; two daughters, Juanita Baird of Des Moines and Judith Veasman of Indianola; a brother, Frank Stovers of Grinnell; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
