Lawrence D. Stewart, 82, of Indianola died of cancer Friday at home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery there.

Mr. Stewart was born in Adair County and lived in the Indianola area since 1952. He was a retired farmer and member of the Laborers Local in Des Moines.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; three sons, Dick of Indianola, Jerome of Des Moines and Lawrence Jr. of Hartford; four daughters, Nancy Cornell and Lillian Stewart, both of Indianola, Audrey Morris of New Virginia and Delilah Logan of American Canyon, Calif.; four sisters, Edie Bowen of Overland Park, Kan., Ruby White and Pat Rynearson, both of Henderson, Nev., and Lucille Hamilton of Bakersfield, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m.
