Jerry was a life-long resident of Indianola and graduated from Indianola High School in 1956. After graduation, Jerry joined his father and brother in the family concrete business Sternquist & Sons which later became Sternquist Construction. He spent his retirement doing the things that he enjoyed - fishing, playing cards and spending time with his friends and family. Jerry loved a good joke. He had a warm smile, a gentle nature and a good sense of humor. He was a member of the American Legion Hall and served his country by joining the Army from 1961 to 1963.
