Memorial services for Virginia A. Botkin, 88, of Indianola, who died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the Taylor House Hospice in East Des Moines, will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Chapel of Faith in Indianola.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Virginia had lived in Indianola for most of her adult life. She was an elementary teacher in Melcher-Dallas and surrounding communities. Virginia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren; her hobbies were cross stitching and pottery.

She was preceded in death by her husband Murray Botkin in 1972.

Surviving are a son Bill (Karen) Botkin of Indianola; a daughter Brenda Botkin Davitt of Indianola; four grandchildren, Emily and Christa Botkin and Ellie and Ely Ladd, all of Indianola; two sisters-in-law Lavaun (Arvene) Brocker and Dorothy (Joe) Carter, both of Indianola.

Memorials may be given to the Taylor House Hospice.
