Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:
Frank Byron Spear, son of Samuel and Susan Spear, was born near Milo, July 2, 1874, and passed on to his Heavenly Home May 22, 1939, at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 29 days.
He was united in marriage to Maggie Keller November 23, 1898. There were born to them three children, Frank Byron, Marguerita Aline, and Cyril Duane, all of whom live in this immediate neighborhood.
Mr. Spear had been a Christian all his life. Reared in a beautiful Christian home, he was dedicated to the Lord and baptized in infancy in the United Presbyterian church, Lacona. Later he united with the Green Plain Methodist church where his wife held membership. Here he had continued an active and loyal member since.
He had spent his entire life in this county and within a small radius of his present residence, where he had lived for the last 30 years. A man of humanitarian interests, he had for years known every person in this countryside and had proven himself to be a good neighbor to them.
He leaves to mourn his death, his widow; three children; one brother, A. Elmer Spear, Indianola; six grandchildren; four nephews; one niece, and many friends.
