Donald Jay Sinnard, 82, of Pleasantville died of a heart attack Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services were held Jan.13 at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville. Burial with military rites will be at Sandyville Cemetery.

Mr. Sinnard was born in Warren County and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was retired from Iowa Power and Light Co. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans and was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed golfing.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Judy Bowlin of Carlisle; three grandchildren; a step grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
