Bernice Nadine Keller, daughter of Andrew Frederic Sinn and Blanche Opal (Bruce) Sinn was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Madison County and passed from this life Jan. 27, 2011, at Indianola Good Samaritan Center at 94 years of age.
Bernice attended Madison County country schools and graduated from New Virginia High School in 1935. She worked at the New Virginia Newspaper/Print shop until her marriage to Dale Miller Keller Jan. 1, 1936, at Chariton.
Bernice lived in Warren County the majority of her life. She was a member of New Virginia United Methodist Church, New Virginia Garden Club, UMC Ladies Aide, United Methodist Women and Samuel Irwin Women's Relief Corps in years past. She enjoyed camping, quilting, gardening and flowers; she helped with 4-H. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to attend her grandkid's activities.
Those relatives who preceded Bernice in death were her parents; husband in 2003; son, Carrol Laverne in infancy; brothers, Leo Sinn, Merlin Sinn and Charles Sinn as a child; sister, Lila Weddle; sisters-in-law, Dolores Sinn and Olive Sinn; brother-in-law, Eugene Weddle.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Lary D. Keller of Indianola; daughter, Mary Jane (Richard) Hatcher of New Virginia; son, John Keller of Indianola; son, Donald Keller of Ashland, Neb.; daughter, Marda (Clyde) Henningsen of Gravette, Ark.; grandchildren, Randy (Ginger) Keller of Redondo Beach, Calif., Lisa (Van) Brownlee of St. Charles, Donald (Tamela) Hatcher of New Virginia, Brian Keller of Las Vegas, Nev., Thad Keller of Altoona, Chad Keller of Des Moines, Leslie (Dan) Rinner of Osceola; four great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; brother, John Sinn of Minot, N.D.; sister, Donna Sinn of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Norma Sinn of Martensdale, as well as several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at New Virginia United Methodist Church, Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Josh Steward officiating.
Visitation was held at New Virginia United Methodist Church Monday one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment in the New Virginia Cemetery followed the funeral service Monday.
