Services for Harris Evertt Shupe, 65, who died of cancer Sunday, Jan. 11, will be held today, Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church. The body was cremated and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at Liberty Center Cemetery.
Mr. Shupe was born in Shannon City. He was an electronic technician and a self-employed television repairman. He had taught electronics at United Electronics Institute in West Des Moines and had served on the Westview Care Center Review Board. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War ll and was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Noon Lions Club, Men's Garden Club, Common Cause and had been a volunteer for Hospice of Central Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Sheryln Hunter of San Gabriel, Calif., and Susan Shupe of Indianola; two brothers, Melvin of Afton and Robert of Elkhart, Ind., five sisters, Esther Brenden of St. Cloud, Minn., Beulah Harris of Nevada, Ruth Harris of Indianola, Dorothy Grussing of Lakeland, Fla., and Laura Erwin of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hospice of Central Iowa.

Harris was born, January 7, 1922 the son of John R. and Eva Fern (Gleason) Shupe. He was married to Ruth Ann Cage.
Services were conducted at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Interment will be at the Liberty Center Cemetery, Warren Co., IA.
