Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Loren Elvert Shippy, son of Saleda and Grace Stanley Shippy, was born March 12, 1907 at Lamoni, Ia. and died May 4, 1982 of a heart attack at his home in Des Moines at the age of 75.

Mr. Shippy married Frances Hutt of Indianola Aug. 18, 1932. He farmed near Hartford and at Colo until the mid-sixties when he retired and moved to Des Moines. He then drove for Yellow Cab Co. until July of 1981.

Surviving him are his wife of nearly 50 years, Frances, two daughters, Donna Gideon of Rochester, Mich., and Mary Skrobrak of Spokane, Wash.; a brother Cecil of Ottumwa; two half brothers, Alva Higdon of Iowa City and William Weable of Auburn, Wash.; two sisters, Nina Brock of Abingdon, Ill. and Ardeta Butler of Perry; two half sisters, Loretta Yandall of Auburn, Wash. and Flossie Remer of Miami, Fla.; six grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 7, 1982 at the Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines with Leland Shipley of the Central Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment was in the Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
