Marjorie Melick, 74, died June 19, 2005 at the Comfort House Hospice in Pella. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas with burial at Pleasantville Cemetery.
Marjorie (Sheesley) Melick was born August 28, 1930 in Murray, Iowa. She had lived in Pleasantville, Washington, Colorado, and moved back to Melcher-Dallas 15 years ago. She was married to Forest Melick for 57 years, and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Pleasantville Alumni Association.
Marjorie graduated from Pleasantville High School and was a homemaker. She owned a restaurant, Dairy Queen, and a filling station in Melcher-Dallas. She and Forrest enjoyed all their time together and like to travel and dance.
She is survived by son, Terry (Marilyn) Melick of Carlisle; daughter, Teresa (Bob) Lyon; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Elder and Alice Jane Melick.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Memorials may be sent to the Comfort House Hospice.
