Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 7-1-1985:

Services for Bertha A. Schaefer, 90, of Lacona, who died of a heart ailment Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Born in Nebraska, Mrs. Schaefer was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include six sons, Vincent and Gerald, both of Des Moines, Edward and Firman, both of Lacona, David of Virginia Beach, Va., and Donald of Houston, Texas; 31 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today and Tuesday at Mosher Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
