Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA, 11-2-1993:

Wilfred Jerome Schneider, 75, of 1706 57th Place died of a heart ailment Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Schneider, who retired from Deere and Co., was born in Lacona and lived in Des Moines 40 years, coming from Milo. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Dowling General Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, United Auto Workers and Iowa State Council of Senior Citizens.

Surviving are his wife, Augustina; a son, Kevin of Des Moines; three daughters, Carolyn Hait of Carlisle, Kathleen Green of Des Moines and Annette Peterson of Runnells; a brother, Carl of Fairbank; two sisters, Lucille Greubel of Milo and Lenore Graham of Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Memorial contributions may be made to his church's building fund or the American Heart Association.
