Glenn Leroy Schnathorst, 88, of Indianola died of cardiopulmonary arrest Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16 at Fort Des Moines Open Bible Church, 1116 Army Post Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Chapel of Faith Church, 927 Highway 65/69, of which he was a member, with at burial at Newton Union Cemetery.
Mr. Schnathorst was born in Newton and moved to Indianola in 1947. He farmed and was retired from Des Moines Steel Co. He had been a member of Fort Des Moines Open Bible Church for many years and served on the board of elders.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Odetha, in 1993.
Survivors include three sons, LeRoy of Ankeny, Emlin of Indianola and Ivan of Des Moines; four daughters, Dolareze Allen, LaDonna Curtis, Opal Walker and Pearl Hutchinson, all of Des Moines; a sister, Ruby McGrath of Redding, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Southtown Funeral Home handled arrangements.
