Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 3-23-1987:

Edd Schaefer, 65, of Lacona died of cancer Tuesday, March 17, at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines. Services were held Friday, March 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Schaefer was born in Lacona. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah; two sons, Lewis of Lacona and Raymond of Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Mary Mulvoy of Jacksonville, Fla., Joyce Clark of Exeter, N.H., Grace Armstrong and Ruth Walker, both of Indianola, and Clara Putz of Sandyville; five brothers, Firman of Lacona, Gerald and Vincent, both of Des Moines, Donald of Houston, Texas, and David of Virginia Beach, Va.; and 15 grandchildren.

Mosher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
