Ethel Marvoureen Borchert, 93, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Sunday, May 4, 1997, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation with family will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Overton Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at First United Methodist Church in Indianola, of which she was a member, with burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Borchert, a homemaker, was born in Warren County and had been a resident of Indianola since 1949 moving to Norwalk Care Center three months ago. She had been a cook for the Indianola Community School District in the 1960's. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Richard of West Des Moines and Wendell of Boulder, Colo.; a daughter, Eleanor Murray of Indianola; a sister, Ardys Thompson of Arvada, Colo; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
