James D. Wadle was born November 4, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to Claude and Betty (McLeod) Wadle. He grew up in Melcher, making his own fun and entertainment with his family and friends. Growing up he was known to be a little ornery and often pushed things to their limits. He was very athletic and earned the name "Golden Wings" because of his speed and agility. Graduating from Melcher High School in 1964; he went to California where he went to Junior College in Santa Cruz and played football until being injured.

He was married to Linda Gass in 1971; they were blessed with two sons: Anthony and Benjamin. Jim and Linda were blessed with 39 years together.

James worked at John Deere in Ankeny. Everyone respected him as a very hard worker. He was passionate about everything he did; he was self-taught in many things and was a perfectionist. Just as he worked hard; he played equally hard. He enjoyed golf, hunting, and his family. He loved golfing and golfing well. He loved hunting, but probably enjoyed the peace and beauty of the outdoors as much as the actual hunt. In the last few years Jim really began to appreciate life as he slowed down. This was probably due to the great love he had for his grandchildren and family.

Jim passed away March 1, 2013 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Preceding him in death were his parents: Claude and Betty Wadle and step father, Wayne Nolte; brother, Monte Wadle; father-in-law, Russell Gass; and sister-in-law, Marge Gass.

Surviving are his wife, Linda, sons: Tony (Angie) Wadle, and Ben Wadle; four grandchildren: Haylie Wadle, Andrew Maresca, Avery Maresca, and Olivia Wadle; siblings: Gary Wadle, Pam (Frank) Cacciatore, Madonna (John) Milburn, Laura (Chris) Conrad, and sister-in-law, Emma Wadle; mother-in-law, Jean Gass; and in-laws: Harry (Alonna) Gass, Ann (Bill) Miller, and Robert Gass; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are special friends: John Carle, Dave Yarges, and Dan Fall.
