Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 1-27-2011:

Marjorie Doris Weeks, 87, of Winterset, Iowa, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Care Center North in Winterset. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29, at the McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The body has been cremated with the cremains being interred in the Winterset Cemetery.

Marjorie was born on November 15, 1923, at Madison County, Iowa to William and Dora (Hermon) Hulbert. She was a 1941 graduate of Winterset High School and had been married to Russell Weeks. She had been a lifetime resident of Madison County except for a brief residency in Adair County. Marjorie had been a farmwife, homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Larry (Mona) Weeks of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Denny (Debbie) Weeks of Winterset, and Bob (Shelley) Weeks of Winterset; daughter, Myrna (Mark) Picogna of Hoover, Alabama; foreign exchange student, Nar Chardenoak of Bangkok, Thailand; sisters, Amanda Wren of Des Moines and Mary Lou Foley of Winterset; sister-in-law, Shirley Hulbert of Winterset; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, William & Dora Hulbert; husband, Russell D. Weeks; and brother, Charles Hulbert.

Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home. Memorials will be directed to Care Center North Activity Fund or Middle River Hospice.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley - Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
