Gladys Marie Crabb was born to Clarence and Katherine Howe on March 2, 1901, in Scotland County, Mo. She died on June 8, 1982, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 81 years.

On March 14, 1923, she was united in marriage with Glen Herbert Jones. They lived on a farm in Northern Scotland County, Mo. near Cantril, Ia. until 1934, when they moved to Cantril; and in 1937 to Indianola.

To this union were born four children, all of whom survive her: Clifford Dale and Clyde Stanley, both of Belton, Texas, Dorothy Jean Aldridge of Indianola, and Richard Wayne of Greenville, Miss.

On December 29, 1944, she was united in marriage with Joseph VanZandt who died in 1956.

On Jan. 26, 1971, she was united in marriage with DeMoss Crabb, who survives her.

She is also survived by one step-daughter, Evelyn Owens, of Newton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Nova Howe of Belton, Texas, Claude Howe, of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Lena Stott of Memphis, Mo.; also eight nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 11, 1982, at the Peterson Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Garbison officiating. Interment was in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys M. Crabb, 81, of 810 First Street will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 11 at Peterson's Funeral Home. Mrs. Crabb died Tuesday afternoon at Westview Care Center where she was a resident for the past six weeks.
A native of Scotland County, Mo. she had lived in Indianola since 1936.
She is survived by her husband DeMoss; three sons, Clifford D. Jones and Clyde S. Jones both of Belton, Texas, and Richard W. Jones of Greenville, Miss.; one daughter, Dorothy Aldridge of Indianola; one step-daughter, Evelyn Owens of Newton, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
Also surviving is one sister, Lena Scott of Memphis, Mo., and two brothers, Claude Howe of Cedar Rapids and Nova Howe of Belton, Texas.
Mrs. Crabb will be buried at the IOOF Memorial Gardens.
