Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 9-25-1985:

Donald Frank Hoffman, son of Ralph Raymond Hoffman and Julia Catherine Ohnemus, was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Warren County and died suddenly Sept. 6 in Tama County while attending the Iowa Firemen's Association Convention.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona with Father Jon Kautzky officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery at Lacona. Arrangements were made by Mosher Funeral Home.

On Nov. 19, 1945, he was united in marriage to Frances Dorothy Jacobs. To this union three children were born.

He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Edward, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two children, Brian and Brenda; daughter-in-law Anna; and two granddaughters, Erin Marie and Kelly Katherine, all of Lacona.

Services for Donald F. Hoffman, 65, of Lacona, who died of a heart attack Saturday while camping in Tama, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Hoffman, a lifelong resident of Lacona, was a member of the Lacona Volunteer Fire Department and St. Mary's Catholic Church. In 1983 he retired as a laborer from Lacona Co-op Elevator Co.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Brian of Lacona; a daughter, Brenda Hoffman of Lacona; and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at Mosher Funeral Home until service time.
