Verle Fetters, 86, of Denton, Texas, died of cancer Monday, April 20, 1998, at Lake Forrest Good Samaritan Village there. Services were held April 25 at First United Methodist Church in Indianola, of which he was a member, with burial at Indianola City Cemetery.

Mr. Fetters was born in Warren County and had lived most of his life in Indianola before moving to Denton in 1996. He was a retired construction superintendent with Castle Construction in Des Moines and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Hallie Glee; two sons, Rick and Brent, both of Lewisville, Texas; three brothers, Cleo of Las Vegas, Robert of Milo and Donald of Fayetteville, Tenn.; three sisters, Bertine Barger of Nevada and Mardelle Clendenen and Norma McKinney, both of Indianola; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Overton Funeral Home handled arrangements.
