Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Barney Nicholas Endres died on April 8, 1983, in the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

He was born in Rosemount, Ia., on April 19, 1900, to John and Mary Steger Endres.

He married Leona Dittmer on Oct. 3, 1923, in St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church in Rosemount. They lived and spent the first 25 years of their married life on a farm south of the Rosemount Church. In 1949, they moved to a farm in Liberty Center and have lived there since.

He is survived by his wife, Leona, and six children, Geraldine Dobson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mervin of Hamilton, Ohio, Irma Staab of Lakewood, Colo, Cleo of Aurora, Ill., Niles of Littleton, Colo., and Mary Lauhoff of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Five sisters also survive him: Grace Resneder of Milo, Frances Dittmer of Waukee, Martha Harmeyer of Des Moines, Isabel Huerter of Greeley, Colo., and Sister Edelwalda of Milwaukee, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert, and sister, Verona Walk.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Jon Kautzky at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona on April 11. Burial was in the parish cemetery north of Lacona.
