Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 10-2-2002:

Elizabeth Russell, 94, of Indianola died of cancer Monday at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Dallas Cemetery there.

Mrs. Russell was born in Hocking and had lived there as a youth. She had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area many years before moving to Indianola two years ago. She was a retired bookkeeper with Des Moines University---Osteopathic Medical Center and had been a piano player for silent movies.

She is survived by a son, James, a daughter, Dolores Milburn, and a sister, Pathana Harding, all of Melcher-Dallas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
