Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

James Walter Edwards, son of Walter and Anna Edwards, was born Nov. 26, 1919, near St. Charles, Ia. and died May 2, 1970, at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 50 years, 5 months and 6 days.

His parents moved to Indianola when he was very young, and he lived in or near Indianola until Feb. 10, 1942, when he was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Force. He served his country both in the United States and overseas and received his discharge Nov. 11, 1945.

May 13, 1946, he was married to Edna Wallace of Bradgate, Ia., and to this union two children were born; John Walter and Janis Lea. They lived in or near Indianola until 1955 when they moved to Des Moines where he was living at the time of his death. Most of his adult life he handled heavy equipment machinery on road construction.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; son, John; and daughter Janis Nelson; son-in-law, Dennis; and one granddaughter, Angela Marie. Also surviving are three brothers and four sisters, Harold of Des Moines, Art of Oakland, Calif., and Roy of Norwalk, Mrs Fred (Wilma) Harvey of Norwalk, Mrs Gabriel (Pauline) Soloc of Durand, Mich., Mrs Clive (Esther) Wood of Indianola and Mrs Al (Eda) Moldenhauer of Lennon, Mich.; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Sgt. Junior D. Edwards.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.W. Garbison May 6 at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
