Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Naomi (Bloom) Hicks daughter of R.D. and Viola Bloom, was born in Brown County, Ohio, April 18, 1844, and at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 15 days her spirit was called home to rest April 3, 1908, at 9:30 p.m.

She was married to William W. Hicks March 16, 1871. To this union seven children were born. The children living are Mrs. Melda Hollingsworth, Charles W., Mrs. Belle Hollingsworth, Mrs. Leona Dollison and Mrs. Mable Norris, all who with her faithful compainion were with her at her death and tenderly ministered to her wants during her last fatal sickness which was of some three years duration. The other children Willie E. died Aug. 5, 1884 and Clara M., June 16, 1895.

Mrs. Hicks came with her father's family to Illinois in 1851, where her mother died in April 1853. The same fall they came to Warren County, Iowa where she has since resided.

She was converted and united with the Free Baptist church at Belmont Zion about 1875 and remained a member until the organization went down and a number of years ago she united with the church of Christin Christian Union at the same place and retained her membership until her death. She often expressed herself during her long sickness as being weary amid her afflictions and ready for the change to the great beyond.

She leaves to morn her loss a loving husband, 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and aged father, one brother, one step-brother, 2 half sisters, 3 half brothers and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Belmont Zion church Sunday at 11 a.m. They were conducted by C. S. Fair assisted by Rev. Tennant and Rev. Eveland, after which the body was lain to rest in the cemetery near by.
