JoAnn passed away peacefully Thursday, December 13, 2012 surrounded by those who loved her most - both two-legged and four-legged.

She was born January 1, 1932 to Leo and Rozella Spalti. She resided in Pleasantville, IA all her life and passed away on the farm she loved, where she nurtured her garden into bountiful crops of vegetables, herbs, and fruit. She spent the winters creating paintings and various works of art.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, O. J. Spalti. She is survived by her daughters, Kim McNerny (Dennis) of Pleasantville and LuAnn Ohnemus (Lyle) of Milo, IA, four grandchildren, Erin (Shaun), Jessie, Lee and Garrett; and two great-grandchildren Dani and Alayna; Sister-in-law Jackie Spalti of Salem, OR and two nephews Mike Spalti (Beth) of Salem, OR and Todd Spalti (Jean) of Orcas Island, WA. She will be missed by many friends, especially close friend Mary Jane McGuire. Last but not least, she leaves behind her beloved four-legged family - Chloe, Skeeter and Sparky.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday at the Mason Funeral Home at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society or HCI Care Services - Knoxville.
