Services for Wilma L. Douglas, 89, who died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Westview Care Center in Indianola, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will be in the Liberty Center Cemetery in Liberty Center.

She was born in Melcher, Iowa and had lived on a farm south of Indianola for several years. She spent ten years living at Jan's Manor in Indianola and the past three months at Westview Care Center. She was a farm homemaker and had worked at Crouse Cafe for over 20 years. She was a member of Medora Methodist Church.

Wilma is survived by two sons, Lonnie of New Virginia and Steve of West Des Moines; four daughters, Dixie Gillett of New Virginia, Rose Doss of Milo, Verlee Swanger of Council Bluffs and Janie Edgington of Omaha; a brother, Jim Parker of Indianola; two sisters, Betty Dale of Indianola and Alice Fletcher of Placerville, CA; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Les" and granddaughter, Tammy.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 9 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. to great friends. Memorials may be designated to New Virginia Rescue.
