Obituary from an unknown newspaper on 6-14-1998, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Gerald E. Sutton, 87, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola, where he was a member. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Madrid.

Mr. Sutton was born in Boone and had lived in Indianola since 1946. He was retired as a vocational agriculture teacher for the Indianola schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Mens Garden Club, Kiwanis, American Legion and Warren County Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; a stepdaughter, Mary Pratt of Mitchellville; a half-brother, George Sutton of rural Carlisle; a stepgrandson; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Warren County Historical Society.
