Leroy Blackford, 74, of Des Moines died Friday, April 9, 1993, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center following heart surgery. Services were held April 13 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial at North River Cemetery near Norwalk.

Mr. Blackford was born in Linn Township and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired truck driver for Sbrocco Fruit Co. and a member of the Teamsters.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Lloyd of Des Moines, Sherry Remus-Schroeder of Omaha and Nancy Iyer of Denver, Colo.; two half-sisters, Marie Longcor of Des Moines and Ethel Davis of Woodward; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Westover Funeral Home handled arrangements.
