Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 12-14-2005:

Merrill Anthony, 80, died on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pleasantville Christian Church. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery.

He was a rural mail carrier and farmed. Merrill was an Air Force veteran, and was very interested in history and genealogy. He is survived by five sisters, Dorothy Surber of Windsor, CA; Mildred Hoffman of Alexandria, LA; Norma Snodgrass of Des Moines; Irma Hudson of Baxter, MN; and Marjorie Dop of Pleasantville.

Visitation will begin at Mason Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be made to the Fairview Christian Church.
